About me
Dr. Helena Handschuh is a Technical Board Advisor to security start-ups. Her expertise encompasses embedded and foundational security technologies, crypto and post-quantum crypto, side-channel attacks and countermeasures, security architecture and security standardization. She was chairwoman of the RISC V Foundation Security Standing Committee for several years. She was formerly a Research Fellow at Rambus Inc., a Technical Director at Cryptography Research, Inc., and Chief Technology Officer at Intrinsic-ID. Prior to that she managed the Applied Cryptography and Security Group at Gemplus (now part of Thales). She has been a volunteer Research Fellow at the KU.Leuven for over a decade. She was a member of the ETSI-SAGE Security Algorithms Group of Experts for 10 years and served as an elected Officer of the IACR, the International Association for Cryptologic Research for many years. Helena was appointed program chair of SAC 2004, FSE 2005, CHES 2015, CT-RSA 2017, RWC 2021 and CRYPTO 2023 and serves on several conference Steering Committees. She has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed papers and holds 25 patents in the areas of security and cryptography.
