About me
Derek Hower is an experienced engineer working at Qualcomm with previous stops at AMD and Intel. Derek has over a decade experience in performance modeling, including the development of several simulator infrastructures both as a manager and individual contributor. He was also the lead microarchitect of a custom RISC-V application CPU, and was heavily involved in the development of test plans and harnesses for that design. He has experience developing and participating in industry standards, including the Heterogenous System Architecture (HSA) and RISC-V. Derek received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and bachelor’s from Duke University.
